The real reason behind Ciaran Davies’s breakup with his ex-girlfriend has been revealed, shedding light on the Love Island star’s romantic history before entering the villa.
Ciaran, 21, who recently hit it off with fellow islander Nicole Samuel, 23, had previously been in a relationship with Evie-May Bishop, a student from Gloucester, sources confirm to The Sun.
The two dated in 2022 for under a year, following a brief fling Ciaran had with a woman 20 years his senior. During their time together, Ciaran and Evie-May enjoyed a luxury getaway to Rhodes and spent quality time meeting each other’s families.

However, their romance reportedly ended due to logistical challenges. A source explained, “With her based in Gloucester studying and working with horses on weekends, and Ciaran busy during the week as a surveyor and tied up with rugby on weekends, keeping the relationship going was tough.”
Meanwhile, Nicole’s own dating past has come under the spotlight. She previously dated rugby player Paddy McBride, who bears a strong resemblance to Ciaran. The pair were together during the COVID-19 lockdown and even became close with each other’s families. But over time, the relationship faded. Paddy has since moved on and recently welcomed a child.
Tensions have already emerged in Ciaran and Nicole’s budding villa romance. Early in the series, a falling-out occurred between Nicole and Harriett Blackmore over Ciaran. Nicole was originally coupled with Sean Stone but developed feelings for Ciaran, who had been paired with Harriett.
Despite knowing Nicole liked Ciaran, Harriett made a move on him without saying anything, which led to drama. Nicole, visibly upset, confronted the situation and expressed frustration over not being told about a kiss between Harriett and Ciaran that happened the night before.
“She didn’t even have the decency to tell me. Jess had to break the news,” Nicole vented. “Honestly, she can f*** off. Him too.”
